Kohn, who is a member of the anti-Zionism Neturei Karta religious group in New York City, was speaking with IRNA on Friday on International Quds Day, an occasion designated by the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic Ayatollah Khomeini more than 40 years ago.
“We, as rabbis of the Jewish Community, have come out on this International Quds Day in New York City to express our solidarity with the people of Palestine that have been suffering of this criminal regime, of the Zionists. They have occupied Palestine since 1948,” the rabbi said.
He said that “Jews reject the idea that Zionism has any legitimacy or justification” in their religion, and strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s aggression against the Palestinian people, as well as its recent attacks against Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds City.
“We stand strongly with the people of Palestine until Palestine will be free. The occupation of Palestine has to end.”
On Friday, April 14, people in different countries held rallies and events to mark International Quds Day in a show of support for the Palestinian people.
Quds Day falls on the last Friday of the fasting Muslim month of Ramadan.
